Trips are the focus of our club, and are advertised on Team App. Day trips and weekend camping trips take place within a few hours’ drive from Sydney. Longer trips reach all parts of Australia, including some of the more remote areas.
Our trip leader statement describes the commitments that we expect from participants on our trips.
Trip leader statement
Thank you for showing your interest in participating in the Hornsby Kuringai Four Wheel Drive Club. Trip leaders are volunteers, dedicating our time to curate trips for the club. We aim to create enjoyable and safe experiences and to share our appreciation for the bush.
In order to get the most from the trips we ask for your cooperation. It is imperative that all participants are aware that they are responsible for their own safety, and for the safety of their passengers and their vehicles. Be aware of your limits and of the limits of your vehicle. If you are not sure or not comfortable, please let the trip leader know at any time before or during the trip.
The more trips you participate in, the more your abilities and your understanding of your vehicle will develop.
We do provide guidance on the experience levels required for each trip, and we encourage you to ask questions and seek clarification in the lead-up to the trip if you have any concerns.
To maintain the standard of our trips, we limit the number of participants. We kindly request that club members sign up only if they are genuinely available, capable, and committed to joining. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend a trip, please promptly update your attendance status. This allows others to take your place and enjoy the outing.
In case a trip reaches its full capacity, we encourage you to join the waitlist. Feel free to reach out to the trip leaders, who may, at their discretion, increase the number of participants based on the situation and available resources.
Equipment for each trip will be confirmed in the trip description especially if specific equipment is required. As a minimum each vehicle should have a compressor, UHF radio, and rated recovery points at the front and rear of the vehicle.
Once again, thank you for being a part of our adventures. Your enthusiasm and cooperation contribute significantly to the success of our trips. Let’s continue to explore, learn, and cherish the great outdoors together.
